CEO DATELINE - Fly-ins this week include credit unions, space explorers, potato growers

Expect some pedestrian traffic jams on Capitol Hill this week, as associations bring hundreds or even thousands of their members to Washington, D.C.
Credit Union National Association holds one of the biggest events, with more than 5,000 people attending the annual Governmental Affairs Conference at the Washington Convention Center. Orientation for nearly 600 first-timers was held Sunday. Advocates will visit congressional offices Wednesday and Thursday.
More than 1,600 county officials started arriving over the weekend for the National Association of Counties legislative conference. Events included a technology innovation summit Saturday. The National Association of Health Underwriters expects nearly 800 members for its 26th annual Capitol Conference Tuesday and Wednesday.
Advocates with the Space Exploration Alliance come together for a legislative blitz this week. The alliance includes the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, The Planetary Society and other nonprofit groups.
Other associations holding fly-ins or legislative conferences this week include:
National Potato Council, American Alliance of Museums, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, American Medical Association, National Association of Broadcasters, American Burn Association, Distributed Wind Energy Association, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, National Association of State Aviation Officials and the American Chiropractic Association.
